Mental Health
Film By: Joshua Brancazio, Esther Cohen, Jordana Conti, Sam Daitzman
College is a time when young adults are transitioning into independence and leaving their homes, friends and family. It can be very challenging because they want to make new relationships while putting pressure on themselves to exceed academically. Many colleges have a high stress environment and the students can have trouble coping. Many become stressed, and for some it leads to depression. In the past year, about one third of college students have felt so depressed it was difficult to function. Most colleges have resources for students but there is still a stigma surrounding mental health and depression. The resources available have gotten much better over the years, but in many areas improvement is needed. In this film, we explore the stigmatized world of mental health in college students. We hope this documentary will provide some insight into mental illness and inspire people to learn more.
